OKAY, I NEED BOOK RECS. Preferably awesome urban fantasy or young adult books or anything with a kickass female protagonist. Things that are automatic wins are books with dinosaurs or pacifist doctors.

But no, seriously, I'm not looking for anything SUPER DEEP or think-y, since I have plenty of that in my schoolings, but I guess if you ABSOLUTELY MUST RECOMMEND a classic or something, I am okay with that! Or if you have a cool nonfiction book, I could handle that too.

What do you think about Jurassic Park, and the sequel, Lost World? I'm not sure if you've read them yet, but the books are so good.

WELL THEY CERTAINLY HAVE DINOSAURS. I think I picked up the first book awhile ago, but I never got around to reading it. I'll definitely put it on my list, though!

So this is not related to your post (I have no book recs as you know since you wonderfully gave me some lol) but would your icon happen to be from Tropic Thunder? RDJ from the fake trailer?

Because if it is it is AMAZING! And if it isn't it is still amazing!

It toooooooooooooootally is.

Tropic Thunder is definitely one of my top three RDJ movies of all time! :D

Wooooo that fake trailer omg I was cracking up so hard during it! The part where Tobey Maguire touches RDJ's rosary and their faces! LMAO.

Oh RDJ is so awesome and incredibly sexy and a very talented actor! I had the pleasure of seeing him at comic con (albeit from quite a distance) and he was so charming and funny! And he talked about having a 70's porno 'stache. It was very nice. ;)

What are your other top two movies for RDJ? I really enjoyed his Chaplin movie :)

I KNOW RIGHT. I WAS LIKE, "DAMN. THIS IS THE BEST MOVIE EVER" AFTER ONLY THIRTY SECONDS.

Plus, I may or may not totally ship Iron Man/Spiderman, so the trailer was like, a super special awesome thing of shiny for me.

He is pretty awesome. I really like how he's pulled his shit together and proven that you CAN pull your shit together and seems to be his own person. Plus he happens to be gorgeous.

Okay, I lied. I have like five really favorite RDJ movies and I can't decide the exact order. Iron Man is definitely number one, though. But I really liked Tropic Thunder, A Scanner Darkly, Wonder Boys, and Kiss Kiss Bang Bang. I haven't seen Chaplin. :(

omg I think I ship Iron Man/Everything lol Tony Starks is just too freaking sexy!

YES! I love that he was an alcoholic and addicted to drugs (I'm pretty sure) and then he got his act together and had this major comeback! I think he's a very talented and charismatic guy :)

I think the only ones I've seen are Iron Man and Tropic Thunder D: I must rectify this situation! Renting these movies from netflix :D

GO TO YOUR NEAREST BOOK PLACE

GET JELLICOE ROAD BY MELINA MARCHETTA

AND BE AMAZED.

(Jellicoe Road weaves past & present together and is set in Australian countryside where three factions of teens - the townies, the cadets, and the boarding school students - basically fight over who gets to use various and sundry landmarks in the area? idk it's really hard to explain but it is AMAZING)

also: the hunger games trilogy (currently only two books; set wayyyy in the future in like, an america that has become something TOTALLY DIFFERENT and where people are kept in line by two kids from each district being taken to fight to the death on reality tv once a year?) by suzanne collins, the blue sword and the hero and the crown by robin mckinley (no dinosaurs, but the second one has dragons :D?) aaaand...

well those are all kind of thinky but they are also amazing YA. amazing memoir that I'm not finished reading yet but which I would rec already: family bible by melissa delbridge (southern dysfunctional family!). ALSO. have you read the virgin suicides or middlesex by jeffrey eugenides (I may or may not just be looking at the books I brought to college with me and naming ALL OF THEM :|)

amazing kidlit that I may have recced you before: the slightly true story of cedar b. hartley by martine murray (feisty heroine! the back of the book says: Cedar B. Hartley steps on cracks. She eats sophisticated chocolates. She is the winner of her school's Bat Pole Championship (which she made up). She's definitely a horrible singer. And she misses her brother Barnaby, who ran away, and who sends her postcards from all over. Nobody knows what Cedar B. Hartley is going to do next - including Cedar. Her adventures with a boy named Kite and a dog named Stinky lead to some big surprises about her friends, her family, and her life.)

amazing nonthinky books: the graham roumieu bigfoot trilogy.

book that is always always always amazing: there's a boy in the girl's bathroom by louis sachar.

if you are ever in the mood for reeeeeally thinky and nonfiction-yet-dinosaury, the essay Imagining Dinosaurs by Susan Willis is fantastic (in the essay anthology Girls, Boys, Books, Toys)

ALWAYS, ALWAYS, MOTHERFUCKING ALWAYS PIPPI LONGSTOCKING.

and now I am going to stop before I just list the entire contents of my bookshelf :|
